Mintu has reportedly told his interrogators that his handler Harmeet lives in a safe house in Dera Chall village on the outskirts of Lahore, around 30 km from the international border.

The KLF terrorist added that Harmeet operates under the protection of the ISI and that he had chatted with him over the internet two days before he carried out the daring jailbreak from Nabha jail near Patiala last Sunday.

News agency ANI, quoting sources, said that Mintu has claimed to have bases in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand, and ISI plans to bring back militancy through these cells.

Mintu also said that KLF sympathisers in Germany and Sandeep in England had sent him money through Hawala channel.

Mintu was nabbed from a Delhi railway station, a day after he escaped with five other inmates from the jail and is currently in police custody till December 5.

One loaded pistol and six live cartridges were recovered from his possession. He was earlier a member of Babbar Khalsa International and later floated his own group.
