Hyderabad: In a major trouble to AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, Telangana government has sanctioned the permission for his prosecution in a 2012 'hate speech' case, according to CNN-News18.

In 2012, AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi in a speech had strongly lashed out at BJP and PM Narendra Modi.


Akbaruddin Owaisi is known for making controversial remarks.


Earlier, Police in Telangana have filed charge sheet against AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi in the alleged hate speech case. The state home ministry informed this to the High Court of Judicature in Hyderabad on Monday. 


The charge sheet was filed in a court in Adilabad district after the state government gave permission for his prosecution. The high court in January had ordered police to expedite the process of filing the charge sheet.
