Maoist leader Baleswar Oraon, who was carrying Rs five lakh reward on his head, has surrendered before the Jharkhand Director General of Police D K Pandey.
Ranchi: Maoist leader Baleswar Oraon, who was carrying Rs five lakh reward on his head, has surrendered before the Jharkhand Director General of Police D K Pandey.
Oraon surrendered yesterday and was given a cheque of Rs five lakh.
The rebel would also get other benefits under the surrender policy, police spokesman M S Bhatia said.
Oraon was a sub-zonal commander of the outfit and member of its Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee.
He had decided to surrender on July 14 this year, he said.
