Sidhu is scheduled to address a press conference at his residence here at 11:30 am.

According to reports, the former Amritsar MP is likely to announce his decision to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Sidhu is likely to become the face of AAP in Punjab in the upcoming Assembly Elections.

The state is likely to witness triangular contests between the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP alliance, the opposition Congress and the new political challenger AAP.

Sidhu quit on the first day of the Monsoon Session, just a few weeks after he was nominated to the upper house. Sidhu's angst with the Badal-Jaitly duo was one of the country's worst kept political secrets. His exit has left the BJP faceless in Punjab.
