PTI reported about the new video on Wednesday even as the Delhi Police informed the High Court that some "foreign elements" were present during the controversial February 9 event in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

Police said that the video shows youth with their faces covered raising slogans against India.

The court was informed that the authenticity of the video is being examined.

The report says JNU PhD scholar Umar Khalid, who has surrendered to police, can be seen in the video but does not appear to be raising slogans.

Police have shortlisted photographs of eight suspected 'outsiders' but they are yet to be identified.

In a status report filed before the HC yesterday, the Delhi Police said, "It is pertinent to mention here that shockingly the incident dated February 9 records the presence of foreign (elements) with their mouths covered which sufficiently came during the course of investigation."

Several videos of the event have surfaced since the row broke out leading to police arresting JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar on charges of sedition from the campus triggering widespread protests.
