New Delhi: Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavams, a nine-day spiritual ceremony in which daily rituals would be performed to Lord Balaji akin in the Hill Shrine of Tirumala, will be organised at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here.

Briefing about the ceremony, Deepa Venkat of Swarnabharat Trust, who is an organiser for the spiritual event said senior BJP leader LK Advani would be attending the inauguration of Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavams.


"Pilgrims may have darsan of lesser than a minute at Tirumala. But, here devotees may worship the deity for about half an hour," she told reporters at a press conference here today.


Several sevas including Thomala Seva and Ekanta Seva would be performed to the replica of Lord Venkateswara, which is recreated at Jawaharalal Nehru Stadium from October 30 and November 8.


Pointing out that 250 Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) personnel have been brought to the national capital for the purpose, she said, 'prasadam' would be provided to the devotees on all days.


"Prasadam like Sweet Pongal and Pulihora would be offered to the devotees," she said, adding that Ladoo would be offered on November 7.


She further said that the visitors would have a similar experience here as in Tirumala with priests from the Hill Shrine have been invited for performing the poojas.


Moreover, an exhibition would be also organised on the occasion.


"Shuttle services are arranged to ferry devotees from metro stations like Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to the venue," she said, adding that every devotee would be treated as a VIP.


Several Union Ministers are expected to participate in Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavams, she said.
