New Delhi: Responding to media reports of Prime Minister Narendra Modi skipping President Pranab Mukherjee's Iftar party on Wednesday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sudhanshu Trivedi said that the former is preoccupied with important programs, and therefore, would not be able to attend the Rashtrapati Bhavan event.

"The Prime Minister is preoccupied with important programs. He has meeting with the Chief Ministers of North East states," Trivedi said.


The Prime Minister today will chair a meeting with Chief Ministers from the North-Eastern states, including Sikkim wherein important development projects related to these states and the entire North-Eastern region are likely to be figured.
