PM Narendra Modi will on Thursday address the Lok Sabha to reply on the motion of thanks to the President Pranab Mukherjee`s address.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Thursday address the Lok Sabha to reply on the motion of thanks to the President Pranab Mukherjee’s address.
The PMO had this morning tweeted that Modi will participate in the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on President's speech in Lok Sabha today.
During his speech, the Prime Minister is also likely to counter the charges made by the Congress-led Opposition over issues related to Rohith Vemula suicide and the JNU sedition row.
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi had yesterday slammed Prime Minister Modi during a debate on the President’s address in the Lok Sabha.
Gandhi assailed the ruling dispensation when Prime Minister Modi was not in the house and nor were most of his front-line ministers, but the Congress vice president named them all and accused the Prime Minister of listening to none, including his ministers.
Responding to Gandhi’s allegations, the BJP criticised him for his lack of knowledge and attack on the government in the Lok Sabha, saying it was ‘full of drama but lacked in content’, and dubbed the Congress vice president a lying machine” and a “non-serious, part-time politician”.
Slamming Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s speech targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley raised questions about his knowledge and maturity.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh also denied the Congress leader’s claim that he was not kept in the loop before signing a peace pact with Naga insurgent group NSCN-IM.
