The Prime Minister took to Twitter to convey his message.

"Tomorrow the world will celebrate the first #YogaDay. I urge you all to be a part of it & inspire others to join as well," he tweeted.

PM Modi, an ardent proponent of yoga, will himself be present at the mega early morning function at Rajpath tomorrow.

While the main function will be at Rajpath, which has been placed under unprecedented security cover for the event that will see diplomats too joining in, the International Yoga Day events will be held across cities, towns and districts in the country.

Yoga day events are being held in 192 countries, including in the Arab world.

Indian missions abroad are also geared up to mark the occasion with some public events.

The yoga celebrations are being organised after the United Nations had in December last year declared June 21 as International Yoga Day, with 177 countries voting in favour.

The proposal was mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the UN General Assembly last year.
