New Delhi: Angered by Shah Rukh Khan's statement on intolerance in the country, several Bharatiya Janata Party and Bajrang Dal protesters staged protest across some parts of the country against Bollywood film 'Dilwale', which released on Friday.

While, Bajrang Dal members protested against the release of SRK-starrer movie and stopped the film's screening at two theatres in Patna and Araria, Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha held demonstration against the screening of the Rohit Shetty's 'Dilwale' in Jabalpur.


Several protesters were seen burning down posters of SRK in Uttar Pradesh's Allahabad city.


 


 


At one of the theatres in Bihar, the activists burnt an effigy of the 'Baadhsah' and threatened to take their protest to different places in the coming days.


The Bollywood Baadshah had added his voice to the protest by the intelligentsia against the 'climate of intolerance' and said that there was "extreme intolerance" in the country.
 


 


Also, MNS Chitrapat Sena's (MNSCS) has appealed to the masses not to patronise 'Dilwale' as its lead actor remained unmoved by the farmers' plight in Maharashtra.


Dilwale – starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon has released today.


Not only 'Dilwale', but Ranveer Singh-starrer Bajirao Mastani also faced protests by the The BJP Yuva Morcha in Pune.


 


The City Pride theatre in Pune today cancelled launch shows of the much-awaited movie.


As per reports, the theatre has cancelled three shows of the film releasing today.


The BJP and its youth wing have alleged that the movie depicts a "distorted portrayal" of the Peshwa and have threatened an agitation against its screening.
