New Delhi: President of the Seychelles James Alix Michel, who is in the national capital for a three-day visit, on Wednesday was accorded a Guard of Honour at the Rashtrapati Bhawan here.

President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung were also present on the occasion along with several other leaders, officials and cabinet ministers.


"Seychelles and India have vibrant relations. My visit here is to consolidate the excellent relations that already exist between India and Seychelles. We have so much in common, we have same shared values, and we have same cultural affinities. India and Seychelles can work together to achieve greater security for our region," President Michel said in his address here.


President Michel arrived in the national capital yesterday for a three-day official visit.


The Seychelles President was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Transport Joel Morgan and Minister of Finance, Trade and Blue Economy Jean-Paul Adam among others.
