New Delhi: The crucial meeting between Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif came under close scrutiny when the Tricolour was found missing from the backdrop of the dias where both the leaders held formal conversation.

In the picture released by the MEA, Sushma, who is on a visit to Pakistan, is seen sharing a conversation with Sharif with no Indian flag in the background.

However, before drawing any conclusions, it may be noted that flags of two nations are displayed in the backdrop only when two leaders with same designation meet. 


Here, Sushma Swaraj had met Pakistan PM as India's foreign minister.


Earlier, Tricolour was seen hoisted upside down during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo-op with Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe before bilateral talks on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur.
