Two suspicious men held while trying to get into Maharajpur Air Force Station near Gwalior

The Gwalior Air Base is of immense strategic importance to the IAF.

Gwalior: Amid the heightened security at all Indian Air Force bases in the country, two men were caught on Sunday while trying to get into the Maharajpur Air Force Station near Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.

The two suspicious men attempted to get into the station using fake ids, claiming to be labourers.

Air Force officials handed them over the police; investigation in the matter is under way.

The Gwalior Air Base is of immense strategic importance to IAF as it is the only operational air force base with two operational parallel runways.

The Air Force Station is home to front-line fighter aircraft like SU-30 MKI and Mirage-2000.
