New Delhi: Five ministers were on Tuesday dropped from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's council of ministers ahead of the swearing-in of 19 new faces and elevation of Prakash Javadekar to a cabinet rank.

All the five were Ministers of State. 


We bring to you the names of ministers who were dropped from the PM Modi's ministerial council:


  1. MoS Water Resources and BJP's MP from Ajmer Sanwar Lal Jat
  2. MoS Chemical and Fertilisers and Union state minister for Panchayati Raj Nihal Chand Meghwal 
  3. BJP's MP from Agra and HRD minister Ram Shankar Katheria
  4. Tribal Affairs minister Mansukhbhai Vasava
  5. Union Agriculture minister Mohanbhai Kundaria

With the induction of the 19 and the dropping of the five MoS, the strength of Prime Minster's Council of Ministers, including himself now stands at 78.
