In posts on twitter, Naidu lauded the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) for its decision.

"Compliments to NDMC, for deciding to change the name of Race Course Road into Lok Kalyan Marg," Naidu said in a post.

"It's a name with message as the PM's house is situated in that road," he added.

The decision to change the name of the road was taken at a high-level meeting of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) presided by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

As a result, the Prime Minister's residential address will now be 7 Lok Kalyan Marg and not the famous 7 Race Course Road.
