The party also accused the BJP of not respecting women contrary to the claims made it.

"Health Minister Anil Vij resorts to various kinds of tactics to gain cheap popularity. He has misbehaved with a woman officer and used foul language for which action should be taken against him," Haryana Congress spokesperson Krishan Murti Hooda said.

"BJP makes tall claims about respecting women but even the Prime Minister or the Chief Minster have never done so. There is a huge gap between what they preach and practice," the spokesperson said.

IPS officer Kalia, SP of Fatehabad district, was today shunted out, a day after a spat with Vij during a meeting, triggering angry reactions against him from the opposition and on the social media.

The minister had on Thursday stormed out of a meeting of the District Grievances and Public Relations Committee after the police officer refused to follow his order to leave the venue following heated exchanges between them. The video of their spat went viral on social media.

Hooda further alleged that Vij has the time to spend on Twitter but cannot call a meeting of the officials of his department to discuss the problems.

The spokesperson also alleged scam by the BJP government in the state in providing compensation to paddy farmers.
