Twitter will not Periscope its quarterly earnings results
Micro-blogging website Twitter will not use its livestreaming video app, Periscope, to broadcast its Q2 earnings, which are set to land next Tuesday, a media report said.
New York: Micro-blogging website Twitter will not use its livestreaming video app, Periscope, to broadcast its Q2 earnings, which are set to land next Tuesday, a media report said.
Midway through 2015, Twitter started broadcasting its earnings calls via Periscope.
Not many companies use live video for earnings, and it was an easy way for Twitter to promote one of its new products to investors, recode.net reported on Friday.
Twitter says that feedback from investors made the company realise that the video feed was not that important.
But given Twitter's interest in video and its vocal commitment to Periscope, this move is worth noting, the report added.
