Srinagar: Asserting that law and order remains its top priority, Jammu and Kashmir Police today said it is strengthening its training infrastructure to adopt modern techniques of mob control and professional policing.
"Law and order maintenance has remained on top of Jammu and Kashmir Police`s priorities and for this purpose the organisation is strengthening its training infrastructure to train its personnel in modern techniques of mob control, without causing loss of lives, besides professional policing," Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) K Rajendra Kumar said.
Kumar said Police is sharpening the training skills of its personnel and various new courses have been introduced in the police training institutions.
"The latest training in the fields like mob controlling and use of non-lethal weapons has assumed much importance in the present scenario," he said during a visit to Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) at Sheeri in Baramulla district of north Kashmir yesterday. Police contingents, presently undergoing basic training course, demonstrated the skills of special training they were imparted at the Centre. Basic training course acquaints the recruits with the rules of discipline and other principles of policing, Kumar said and asked cops to avail the opportunity to make them competent in professional policing which would lead them to make a better He said after completion of training, they would be deployed on different fronts where they would have to represent the organisation in a befitting manner by delivering up to the expectations of the people.
