Handwara: Two youths killed were killed on Tuesday in firing by security forces during a protest in Handwara in Jammu and Kashmir.

Locals were protesting against alleged molestation by security personnel.


As per reports, additional reinforcement have called in as the situation has become tense. 


Meanwhile, Hurriyat and the JKLF have called for a bandh tomorrow in view of the killings.


On the other hand, Army has said that it "deeply regrets the unfortunate loss of life."


"Matter will be investigated and anyone found guilty will be dealt with as per the law," Army added, as per ANI.


"There was allegation that a girl was misbehaved with by a force personnel. When crowd assembled, tried to ransack the bunker & to set it on fire, the forces retaliated, that's when 2 people got injured. Later the two injured succumbed to injuries, presently the situation is being brought under control," SJM Gillani (IGP, Kashmir) said.
