Speaking to reporters, Nadda said that the people of Kerala, especially Dalits, are living in fear.

He added that the delegation appraised the EC about the shocking rape and murder of Jisha near Ernakulam and the rape of a Dalit girl at Varkala in Thiruvananthapuram district.

Nadda said that they have demanded that paramilitary forces be deployed in the state to instil a sense of security in the minds of the people and also to ensure that the elections are held in a free and fair manner.

The BJP is engaged in a three-way fight with the Congress-led UDF and CPM-led LDF in the upcoming elections, scheduled to held on May 16.
