The statement was recorded in the Byculla Women's Prison where she was sent today after being discharged from JJ Hopsital.

Indrani is the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case.

However, the details of her statement are not known as of now.

Whatever Indrani had told the authorities would be included in the report that is to be sent to the state Home Ministry.

"State IG (Prisons) has recorded the statement of Indrani in presence of doctors," a police official, requesting anonymity, told PTI.

Former media executive Indrani had been under treatment since Friday after falling unconscious.

Newly-appointed IG (Prisons) Bipin Kumar Singh is heading the probe into the circumstances under which Indrani collapsed in Byculla Women's Prison, where she is lodged under judicial custody since last month, and rushed to state-run medical facility five days ago.

It is suspected that the 43-year-old had overdose of anti-depressant pills.

Earlier in the evening, Principal Secretary (Appeals and Security) Vijay Satbir Singh had said the former media executive was mentally and physically fit now.
Indrani was discharged from the hospital this evening and moved to the Byculla Women's Prison.

After Indrani's hospitalisation, conflicting reports had emerged on suspected drug overdose in prison.

While one report showed she had overdosed on anti-depressant pills, the other found no such thing.

Meanwhile, a Metropolitan Magistrate's court has reserved till tomorrow its order on the CBI plea seeking permission to interrogate Indrani and the other two accused in the murder case - her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Syhamvar Rai - who are also under judicial custody.

Indrani and the two other accused were arrested in August-end on the charge of murdering her daughter, from an earlier relationship and disposing of the body in a forest in Raigad district, about 84 km from here, in April 2012.

Police had exhumed remains of a body and claimed digital superimposition of the profile of Sheena (24) had matched with the skull recovered from the forest.

Mumbai Police had also grilled media baron Peter Mukerjea, Indrani's husband, several times but he has not been made an accused in the case.

Bora case is presently being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
