The woman bought the three-month-old baby for Rs 40,000 from his two abductors, it has emerged as the dramatic story unfolded.

The revelation came after the Mumbai Police, which have been looking for the abducted kid since September, announced that they have cracked the case.

Mid Day reported that his kidnappers posed as production assistants of a film company in order to steal the baby from his mother.

The accused, Sunny Waghela and Pankaj, told the baby’s mother Sanjana that they needed the toddler for a three-hour shoot, for which she would be paid Rs 15,000. And that was a lie!

They sold the baby to a woman, who had four daughters but wanted a boy, the report said.

According to the report, Sanjana, her husband and her brother-in-law met the accused near Eros Cinema in South Mumbai.

Waghela took the baby with him, but left Pankaj with the others.

Soon, Pankaj received a call and after that he informed the mother that the shooting would take place at Taj Hotel, and hence they should go there.

But after reaching the hotel, Pankaj managed to slip away, pretending that he had to meet the production team. Later, the parents have come to realise that they have been cheated and their baby was abducted.

However, the police managed to nab them after tracing the accused mobile phone locations. During interrogation Waghela confessed that the baby had been sold to a sweeper at a hospital in Colaba.

The woman Asha Hadode was then arrested, the report added.
