According to State Cabinet Secretary R B Thong, the Chief Minister signed the removal order of Mmhonlumo as the Parliamentary Secretary this evening.

Insiders in the NPF-led DAN government said Mmhonlumo was dropped because of his anti-DAN government activities ever since he was inducted.

Moreover, his loyalty to the alliance as well as the party he belonged to appeared to be doubtful, ruling alliance insiders said.

Therefore, the decision to remove him was taken in consultation with BJP leadership in the state and its legislators.

There had also been reports in some quarters which suggested that Mmhonlumo had been backing the filing of PIL by Lotha Hoho against the policy of the state government on Oil and Natural Gas.
