New Delhi: Former Biju Janata Dal Rajya Sabha member Renubala Pradhan will be quizzed by CBI officials on Monday in connection with the fake Leave and Travel Concession scam after she was named as an accused.
The central probe agency had filed FIRs against three sitting and three former Rajya Sabha members in the case and charged them for cheating and forgery. The scam came to light after the present and former MPs were found to have availed LTC reimbursements using fake tickets.
The MPs had allegedly bought air and rail tickets from tour operators using the online facility. They would then get the ticket cancelled at the last minute and reimburse them as travel expenses. The accused includes sitting MPs D Bandopadhyay (TMC), Brijesh Pathak (BSP) and Lalhming Liana (MPF) and former MPs JPN Singh (BJP), Renu Bala (BJD) and Mehmood Arshad Madani (RLD).
