Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Thursday sparked off a new controversy when he slammed yoga guru Baba Ramdev for calling him `Kans`.
Earlier this week, Ramdev likened Lalu to Kans, the mythical evil ruler and uncle of Lord Krishna. “Lord Krishna, Kans and Prasad have the common origins, but Lalu has been influenced more by Kans than Krishna…Lalu has Kans’ genes," Ramdev said.
Reacting to Ramdev`s statement, Lalu said: "Ramdev is going on the path of Asaram and will meet the same fate."
According to a news website, the former Bihar CM also said the flour being sold by Haridwar-based Patanjali Yogpeeth, which is run by Ramdev, contains "some poisonous substance". "In the robes of a sadhu, he is playing Modi`s political guru these days. People should mark the difference between a real holyman and an imposter like Ramdev," Prasad added.
Asaram Bapu, who has been charged with rape, is currently in jail.
