In the wake of its restructuring as Alphabet and continuing its domain purchase spree, Google has bought  the alphabet-y domain name abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.com .

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.com was originally created in 1999, and Google is now registered as the owner of the site under Whois records.

The purchase comes after BMW, the owner of alphabet.com, refused to sell the domain to Google.

Alphabet's home page is abc.xyz, so the company now has one of the longest domain names around as well as one of the shortest.

We realized we missed a few letters in abc.xyz, so we’re just being thorough,” said a Google spokesman.
