Bhubaneswar: A day after the Odisha Police issued a Look Out notice against Manoj Nayak and his wife Saswati Das, SUM Hospital founder on Thursday surrendered.

Manoj Nayak owns the hospital where 21 people died in a fire on Monday evening.


Both are the trustees of Siksha 'O' Anusandhan Charitable Trust, which runs the hospital.


The Odisha government has already lodged two FIRs against the hospital management, citing negligence in terms of fire safety and evacuation of patients during the mishap.


Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had vowed stringent action against the culprits.


The Commissionerate Police have already arrested four persons so far in connection with the fire tragedy.


Medical Superintendent Pusparaj Samantasinghar, former Executive Engineer Amulya Kumar Sahu (electrical maintenance), Fire Safety Officer Santosh Das and retired Junior Engineer Malay Kumar Sahu (electrical maintenance) were arrested on Tuesday.
