SHOCKING! 100-year-old woman murdered in Punjab; family alleges she was raped

The victim`s family suspect the hand of drug addicts in the heinous incident.

Chandigarh: In a shocking incident, a 100-year-old woman was murdered by unidentified persons outside her house at a village near Punjab's Patiala.

Her family has alleged that the woman was raped before being killed. They suspect the hand of drug addicts in the incident.

According to NDTV, the woman's body was found in a semi-naked state near paddy fields in Daub Kalan village early Monday. According to family members, the victim used to sleep in the open.

"In the morning we found her dead. She had been raped and died because of the wounds in her head," NDTV quoted the woman's grandson as saying.

The Punjab Police has filed a case of murder. If post-mortem confirms rape, relevant charges will be added.
