Jaipur: Severe cold wave abated over Rajasthan due to rise in mercury at all places while the sole hill station Mount Abu recorded the lowest temperature of 2.4
degrees Celsius last night, a MeT official said here.

Sikar was the coldest place with minimum temperature of 4 degrees Celsius, which was about one degree below normal.


Due to fog in neighbouring states of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, seven trains of North Western Railway were running late from 1 hr 50 minutes to 8 hr 15 minutes and passengers were seen waiting on platforms, its CPRO Tarun Jain said.


 


Hawarah-Sriganganagar train is running late by 8 hours 15 minutes followed by Sealdah-Ajmer, Gorakhpur-Hisar, Hawara-Jodhpur/Bikaner, New Tansukhia-Lalgarh by over 3 hrs 30 minutes, Bareli-Bhuj by 2 hrs, and Allahabad-Jaipur by 1 hr 50 minutes, he said.


Meanwhile, Pilani recorded 4.8 degrees Celsius, Sriganganagar 5.6, Udaipur 6.4, Jaipur 6.5, Jaisalmer 6.8, Bikaner 6.9, Barmer 9.2, and Kota 9.3 degrees Celsius.


No major change in present winter season is expected in the state in next 24 hours, a forecast said.
