New Delhi: Twitter, the micro-blogging website, has launched a new feature called 'while you were away' service. The new feature will enable users to go through the tweets they might have missed.

A user can see all the tweets he/she might have missed right from the time they last logged in. The tweets will be pinned up on a user's timeline whenever a user opens the website.

The new feature is part of Twitter's “Timeline Highlights” improvements and aims at preserving important tweets that could get drowned out by the rapid flow of tweets on a daily basis.

More than 500 million tweets are sent on a daily basis, with many users following hundreds of accounts.

Facebook has 1.3 billion users in comparison to Twitter's 284 million.
