Japanese astronaut Kimiya Yui, who will coordinate Friday’s spacewalk from inside the International Space Station, assisted Kelly and Lindgren with their tool checks on Wednesday.

The trio also had time for some science work to improve life on Earth and for future crews.

The two astronauts previously took a spacewalk on October 28, during which Kelly and Lindgren performed a number of tasks.

This month, NASA celebrated 15 years of continuous human presence on the International Space Station.
