Total solar eclipse captivates Asia, Pacific: Watch replay if you missed it Live earlier!
A solar eclipse is a natural event that takes place on Earth when the Moon moves in its orbit between Earth and the Sun.
New Delhi: As the new moon passes directly in front of the Sun during the early hours of Wednesday, March 9, millions of people across Indonesia and the Pacific have been treated a total solar eclipse.
According to the official Meteorology, Climate and Geophysics Agency, the eclipse began at 6:19 am (0449 IST today) as the Moon started to pass directly in front of the Sun.
For eclipse watchers outside these regions and those of you who missed watching it Live earlier, here's a replay of the spectacular event.

The live is also available to view at Ustream, YouTube Live and Periscope.
However, in India, it was a partial one, which begins at 4:49 am (Indian Standard Time) on Wednesday and continues till 9:08 am (IST).
The eclipse was total in Indonesia and the Central Pacific, while parts of Australia and east Asia experienced a partial one.
Total solar eclipses occur when the moon comes between the Sun and the Earth, and casts the darkest part of its shadow on Earth.
Astronomers warned against looking directly at the eclipsed Sun as it can cause permanent eye damage, leading to blindness. They recommend using either a professional solar filter in front of a telescope or camera, or special eclipse-viewing glasses.
