The girl, studying in 4th standard in a private school, said that when she came out of her school this morning, a bike-borne man injected a needle into her body, following which she informed the matter to her teacher and was admitted to a hospital and now has been discharged, police said.

"We have collected and verified the CCTV footage but there is no such movement (of any bike rider)... She is giving different versions and now she herself is not sure of any such incident. There is no evidence to prove her allegations," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Malkajgiri Zone) Rama Rajeswari R told PTI.

"Anyhow, we are now in the process of registering a case in connection with the incident," she said.

"We enquired with her co-students and nearby shopkeeper outside the school, but everyone has said that they have not seen any bike rider. If she had been pierced by any sharp object, she could have screamed but she did not. We are verifying with forensic doctors," another police officer said.

An unidentified psychopath was booked for allegedly attacking 11 women and girls with an injection in Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari district over the last few days, police had said.
