Zee Media Bureau/Tarun Khanna Lucknow: In a bid to make the Bharatiya Janata Party a dominant force in Uttar Pradesh, the party`s newly appointed president Amit Shah addressed the party workers in Lucknow on Tuesday. Shah, who was on his maiden visit to UP after being anointed as the BJP chief, said that his major agenda is to bring his party to power in the state. After meeting BJP office-bearers at the party office at Vidhan Sabha Marg, Shah attended a workers` convention at Saraswati Shishu Mandir. While launching a scathing attack on Akhilesh Yadav government in the state, Shah said that the Samajwadi Party is entirely responsible for sorry state of law and order situation in UP. He further added that the report submitted by the committee probing the cause of Saharanpur riots is untrustworthy. He also said that the committee consisted of SP leaders and media should not pay heed to it. Considered to be Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s man Friday, Shah also urged the BJP workers to help the people affected by floods in UP. “We don`t know if UP ministers or the state administration is doing anything in this regard, but we must help the people affected by floods,” said Shah. He also appealed the people of the state to make UP `BJP yukt` (to bring the BJP to power). Until his elevation, Shah was the party`s general secretary in charge of its affairs in Uttar Pradesh. Under his leadership the BJP won 71 of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state. On August 20, Shah will inaugurate PM Modi`s `Jansampark Karyalaya` (public relations office).
