Amit Shah equates Amar Singh with Narad Muni; SP leader says can`t be critical of BJP prez as my wife is Gujarati
Samajwadi Party national general secretary Amar Singh on Saturday thanked Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah for equating him with `Narad Muni`.
Lucknow: Samajwadi Party national general secretary Amar Singh on Saturday thanked Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah for equating him with 'Narad Muni'.
Narad Muni is the son of Lord Brahma and a devotee of Lord Vishnu.
On a lighter note, Amar Singh said that he cannot be very critical of Amit Shah, as his wife was Gujarati and he had to go and 'eat food at home'.
The SP leader's reaction comes after Shah made sarcastic comments on the Shivpal-Akhilesh feud saying, "sometimes uncle (Shivpal Yadav) throws out his nephew's (Akhilesh Yadav) loyalists and sometimes nephew kicks out uncle's confidants, and in all this, Amar Singh plays the role of Narad Muni."
In a decision that may be seen as yet another snub to son Akhilesh, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav yesterday appointed Singh as the national general secretary of the party, almost six years after he was removed from the same post as well as the party.
Interestingly, during the feud between Mulayam's brother Shivpal and Akhilesh, Singh was said to be one who had engineered it.
Akhilesh, while apparently referring toSingh, had recently said that "people from outside the household" keep interfering in the Samajwadi Party's affairs.
Mulayam's cousin Ram Gopal Yadav also had made a veiled attack on Amar Singh during the feud, saying they have no love for the party and hence are creating trouble.
Commenting on that Amar had said, "Akhilesh is like a son and Mulayam like a brother."
