New Delhi: With an aim of making distance learning more lucrative, the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is organising a series of campus placement drives for its students.

"CPC is conducting one such mega drive every month in different parts of the country barring June and December being months of examination. The body is continuously organising the placement drives for the female students for cabin crew for a leading airlines company at different regional Centres.


"In this month, six such drives were conducted in the western part of the country," Manoj Kulshrestha, Director Incharge, Campus Placement Cell (CPC)said.


In a placement drive conducted yesterday, 432 candidates were interviewed by four companies including Go-Ibibo.Com, Convergys, Policy Bazaar and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance.


Policy Bazaar and Convergys gave on the spot offer letter to the successful candidates with a CTC between 21,000 to 25,000 per month and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. Gave package of 1.8 lakh per annum to the selected students.


"Out of 432 candidates who appeared in the drive 86 were shortlisted or selected, Go-ibibo.Com selected 24 students, Policy Bazaar selected 22 students, Convergys selected seven students and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance selected 33 students from the placement drive," Kulshreshtha added.
