Dehradun: Despite High Court quashing President's rule in Uttarakhand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Thursday, exuded confidence in winning the floor test on April 19.

Addressing a press conference, BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya said, “On 29th April, there will be a floor test and it will be proved that Harish Rawat is in minority.”


Commenting on the HC order, the BJP general secretary said, “Taking into view HC bench's remarks in last three days, we were expecting this order...It was not surprising.”


He also wondered how could the court give relief to a chief minister who was clearly seen in a sting operation.


Meanwhile, rebel Congress MLA Vijay Bahuguna, who has joined hands with the BJP, said he would would advise Centre to approach the Supreme Court.


Dealing a major blow to Narendra Modi government, the Uttarakhand HC today quashed the imposition of President' rule in the state and revived the Congress government headed by Harish Rawat, who has been asked to prove his majority on April 29.


After two consecutive days of hearing on a matter filed by ousted Congress chief minister Harish Rawat, the court said the proclamation of central rule in the state stood null and void.
