Major fire at Citi Mart mall in Kolkata contained, no casualties

A major fire broke out at a shopping mall in the New Market area here on Sunday afternoon.

Kolkata: A major fire broke out on the third floor of Citi Mall in the New Market area here on Sunday afternoon.

Around 20 fire tenders were pressed into service, which were prompt to bring the flames under control.

Thick plumes of black smoke engulfed the entire building when the fire was noticed at around 12:30 pm. However, there were no casualties.

It is yet to be ascertained the cause of the fire.
