Troopers of the 4th battalion of the Border Security Force seized the material suspected to be heroin from near the international border in Lalgola area.

"A special patrol team challenged a man carrying a bag and moving towards the Bangladesh border. While he managed to escape, we seized 1.2 kg of brown-coloured powder suspected to be heroin," said BSF Deputy Inspector General R.P.S. Jaswal.

The BSF has seized nearly 45 kg of narcotics and apprehended six smugglers from across the South Bengal frontier so far this year.
