Speaking to Bengali news channel ABP Ananda, Mollah who was expelled from Left in 2014, said, “I know the length of the cigarettes she (Roopa) smokes or with whom she lives with.”

Stooping to new low, Mollah made derogatory remarks against the TMC candidate saying “She really is Draupadi”.

Meanwhile reacting to Mollah's comments, Ganguly said it's beneath her dignity to say anything on such derogatory remarks.

Mollah joined Trinamool Congress this February. Just few days back, he had made controversial remarks on TMC MP Moon Moon Sen.

Mollah is contesting the West Bengal Assembly Election 2016 from Bhangar Assembly constituency in South 24 Parganas district.

Roopa Ganguly is contesting on a BJP ticket from Howrah North against Trinamool candidate, cricketer Laxmi Ratan Shukla.

The BJP has filed a complaint against the TMC leader with the Election Commission.

Ganguly has essayed leading and meaningful roles in a number of films by famed directors and is also a talented singer.

To make inroads into the Legislative Assembly, Ganguly these days can be seen in a non-glamorous avatar, seeking a thumbs up for the lotus symbol from the electorate in West Bengal`s Howrah North.
