The US Geological Survey says the magnitude 5.5 temblor struck around 4 pm and was centered 63 miles southeast Hagatna and six miles beneath the seabed.

Earthquakes of that size are capable of causing damage. But the Guam police dispatch office says no one called to report any damage or to say they even felt it.

Guam is located 3,700 miles southwest of Hawaii.
