Nine people were killed and 12 others injured by toxic gas following a blast in a coal mine in southwest China`s Yunnan Province.
Beijing: Nine people were killed and 12 others injured by toxic gas following a blast in a coal mine in southwest China's Yunnan Province.
The accident happened yesterday at Lianmeng Village, Kunming City, when 21 people were trapped under a coal mine filled with carbon monoxide following a blast, according to the local government.
Two people were killed on the spot, while another seven died later in the hospital.
The injured are receiving treatment in hospital, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
