Seoul: North Korea said on Tuesday it would make a "special" announcement, hours after a 5.1 magnitude tremor was detected close to its nuclear test site, a report said.

There will be a "special, significant" announcement at noon Pyongyang time (0330 GMT), Yonhap quoted the North`s state-run radio station as saying.


The announcement comes after Japan said there was a possibility the tremor -- detected at 0130 GMT in the northeast of the country -- "could be a nuclear test".
