He was also not allowed to speak to Pakistani mediapersons at the Radisson Blue hotel where he was staying, PTI reported citing government sources.

Aziz arrived here on Saturday evening to attend the Heart of Asia conference.

"Security was very tight. Permission was not given due to security reasons. Security of our guests is paramount. India ensured no untoward incident took place," the report said citing official sources.

There was a tiff between Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit and security personnel after they denied Pak journalists' entry to the venue, it said.

Aziz left for Pakistan by around 8 pm.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani visited the Golden Temple on Saturday. Iran's Foreign Minister Javad Zarif visited it today.
