Kiev: The recent ceasefire called by the Ukrainian government and the pro-Russian rebels is already under threat with Ukrainian leader threatening to revoke the truce after militants shot down a Ukraine military helicopter killing nine people on board.
After the helicopter was downed, pro-Russian separatist leader Alexander Borodoi reportedly said that there has been no ceasefire in his view, the BBC reported.
Meanwhile, the recent downing of the military helicopter has threatened the truce called by both sides as Ukraine`s President Petro Poroshenko warned against the constant offensive by the rebels. The Mi-8 helicopter was shot down by the rebels outside Sloviansk killing nine people on board.
The week-long ceasefire was called by the rebels and the government till June 27. The high-level peace talks were attended by Poroshenko, Borodoi, close aide of Russian President Vladimir Putin Viktor Medvedchuk, Russian ambassador Mikhail Zurabov and OSCE officials among others, a report stated.
The Ukrainian leader announced a 15-point peace plan including early polls and create a buffer zone on the border separating Ukraine and Russia, a BBC news report stated.
