New Delhi: Known for being at the receiving end of filmmakers for ordering cuts in the movies, former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani has filed plea against the Censor Board for ordering 20 cuts in his film Rangeela Raja, reports ANI.
"My film was reviewed 40 days after applying. I was going to release my film on Nov 8. Thugs of Hindostan had applied 20 days after me. Prasoon Joshi&Aamir Khan are good friends, so they were given preference. The cuts suggested for my film violate CBFC guidelines, " Pahlaj told ANI.
Earlier, accusing the current censor chief Prasoon Joshi, he had told IANS, “This is nothing but a personal vendetta. When I was the chairperson (at the CBFC) I left a lot of people angry and upset with me. Now when my film has been submitted for censoring, they are taking out their frustrations on me. But I won’t go down without a fight.”
The trailer of the film starring Govinda was released a few days ago along with a quirky poster. Govinda and Pahlaj Nihalani have joined forces again after over 25 years for the film. The actor will be seen playing a double role in the comedy-drama.
Shakti Kapoor, Digangana Suryavanshi, Mishika Chourasia, and Anupama Agnihotri will reportedly be seen in pivotal parts.
Nihalani, on the other hand, was succeeded by Prasoon Joshi as the new CBFC chief in 2017.
