Mumbai: The latest celebrity from the film fraternity to become a victim of death hoax is veteran actress Farida Jalal. The popular actress, who has also acted in a number of TV shows, slammed death rumours and wondered why people spread such fake news.

According to a report in dnaindia.com, Jalal, 68, affirmed, “I am hale and hearty.”


“I don't know from where these baseless rumours are coming from. Initially I laughed, but from last 30 mins my phones have been constantly ringing and everybody is asking the same question. It's a bit irritating, I wonder why people spread such rumours,” the veteran added.


The actress, who essayed the role of Suhasini Diwan in 1990s super-hit TV show ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’, will play a Kashmiri woman in Imran Khan's upcoming flick 'Sargoshiyan'.


Jalal is equally famous for the role of Jiya Nani in popular TV show ‘Shararat’ which also featured Shruti Seth.
