New Delhi: Football great Diego Maradona's death on Wednesday triggered an outpouring of emotional tributes in the sporting fraternity as well as the film industry. Argentina's Maradona, considered the greatest footballer of all time alongside Brazil's Pele, died following a cardiac arrest.

Mourning the footballer's death, Shah Rukh Khan wrote, "Diego Maradona....you made football even more beautiful. You will be sorely missed and may you entertain and enthral heaven as you did this world. RIP...."



Ajay Devgn said, "Have followed Maradona’s game & life for years. Maidaan brought me closer to the game. He was a football legend and a passionate sportsman. Sad to see him go. RIP Diego Maradona."



Arjun Kapoor shared an old photo of posted Diego Maradona on Instagram and wrote, "RIP legend."

Diego Maradona, 60, died two weeks after undergoing a surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain.
