New Delhi: The 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards, set for February 2, 2025, in Los Angeles, will be hosted by Trevor Noah and air live in India on February 3 via Disney+ Hotstar. This year, the spotlight is on both established and emerging Indian-origin talent, with nominees like Ricky Kej, Anoushka Shankar, Varijashree Venugopal and others recognized for their outstanding contributions.

Ricky Kej


Three-time Grammy winner Ricky Kej has been nominated for Best New Age Album for 'Break of Dawn'. Kej won his first Grammy in 2015 for Winds of Samsara in the Best New Age Album category. He later won in 2022 for Divine Tides with Stewart Copeland. In 2023, he and Copeland won again for Divine Tides, this time in the Best Immersive Audio Album category.


Anoushka Shankar


Sitarist and composer Anoushka Shankar has earned two Grammy nominations. She joins Ricky Kej in the 'Best New Age Album' category for 'Ch II: How Dark It Is Before Dawn'. Her second nomination is for 'Best Global Music Performance' for her collaboration with Jacob Collier on 'A Rock Somewhere'. With these nominations, Shankar now holds a total of '11 Grammy nominations' over 20 years.


Varijashree Venugopal


Bengaluru-based vocalist and flautist Varijashree Venugopal has earned her first Grammy nomination in the Best Global Music Performance category for her collaboration with Jacob Collier and Anoushka Shankar on 'A Rock Somewhere'. She also contributed to Ricky Kej's Break of Dawn, joining a prestigious lineup of global talent.


Noshir Mody


 


 


Mumbai-born composer and guitarist Noshir Mody has received his first Grammy nomination in the Best Global Music Performance category for his contribution to 'Kashira' by Masa Takumi, alongside Ron Korb and Dale Edward Chung.


Radhika Vekaria 


 


Radhika Vekaria earns a Grammy nomination, joining the list of Indian-origin nominees. Her unique blend of Indian, East African, and British influences secured her a spot in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category for' Warriors of Light' in 2024. 


Chandrika Tandon


 


Indian-American musician and businesswoman Chandrika Tandon has earned a Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album nomination for 'Triveni'. Previously, she was nominated for Best Contemporary World Music Album for 'Soul Call'.


The prestigious ceremony is set for February 2, 2025, in Los Angeles, bringing together global artists vying for the coveted awards.
