Ishq Di Baajiyaan: Diljit Dosanjh crooning Gulzar`s words is pure magic
Written and directed by Shaad Ali, the biopic will also feature Chitrangada Singh and Angad Bedi.
New Delhi: Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh, who is all set to mesmerize the audience as hockey player Sandeep Singh in Soorma, has lent his voice for a song titled 'Isha Di Baajiyaan'. The song is high on romance and it will make you fall hard for Diljit again.
The song features the romantic relationship of Diljit and Taapsee in the film as they play hockey together. The lyrics have been penned by Gulzar while Shankar Ehsaan Loy have composed the music.
Sharing the song on Twitter, Diljeet wrote, " #IshqDiBaajiyaan Lao Romantic Feelingaan.. Kion Ke Sandeep Bhaji Hamare Baut Romantic Hain And Haan Feelings Mai Like & Share Karna Mat Bhool Jana Although Gana Poora Rakhna Chaiye Thaa @sonymusicindia Mazaa Aney Lagta Hai Khatam Ho Jata Hai.”
Speaking about the song, Diljit said in a press statement, “I am really thankful to Shaad Ali for this opportunity to sing in this film. I recently did a show with Shankar ji and I used to hear a lot his songs that he has composed in the past. Through this film, meeting Gulzar sahab was a great thing for me because I never had any contacts to get through him. To sing a song which is written by Gulzar and music of Shankar Ehsaan Loy is a big thing for me.”
Starring Diljit Dosanjh as Sandeep Singh, the film also features Taapsee Pannu. The trailer of the sports flick looks impressive and hits you hard.
Sandeep Singh is an ace hockey player and an ex-captain of the Indian National Team. In 2006, Singh, an Arjuna Awardee was seriously injured after being hit by an accidental gunshot in a train, while on his way to join the national team, set to leave for the World Cup in Germany two days later.
He was almost paralysed and was in the wheelchair for two years. Singh not only recovered from that serious injury but also established himself again in the team.

After Udta Punjab, Diljit shared screen space with Anushka Sharma in her home production Phillauri which released in March 2017.
